Ginger-Pear Oat Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup skim milk or plain nonfat yogurt
  • 1 small ripe pear, cored, skin on
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2-cup uncooked Quaker oatmeal
  • 1/2-teaspoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon flaxseed oil, optional
  • 4 ice cubes

Preparation

Puree all ingredients in a blender until smooth and creamy, about five to 10 minutes to ensure the ginger is well blended.

Makes about 16 ounces - serves two
